Public Sails to Return in 2014

Thank you for the best season at OYC yet!
Our 2013 season was a fantastic adventure that sailed by too fast for us. We sailed on more trips and had more people enjoy the Monterey Bay from the Team O'Neill catamaran than ever before, and for that we thank our wonderful passengers! We can't wait to tell our sailors what's new for next season, so check back with us soon!

This year's season has been a fantastic one and has sailed by too fast for us. We're wrapping up a summer of beautiful sights, majestic marine life and awesome passengers with weekly Weekend Day Sails, so check out the schedule below for dates and times. Keep in mind, all little sailors under age 5 sail for free!

Humpback Whales Make a Splash in September!

New Events Added: Sunset & Morning Whale Sails

The recent abundance of fantastic whale activity off the Santa Cruz coastline has given O'Neill Yacht Charters the opportunity to offer special two-hour whale watching cruises on the 65' Team O'Neill Catamaran. These sails will put you in the right place at the right time to get up close to the majestic marine life that has made quite a splash the past couple weeks. OYC wants you to experience seeing them in a unique way, so bring the whole family and come see these humpbacks before they depart.

Tickets are $40 and little sailors age 5 and under ride for free. All reservations may be made online or over the phone at 831.566.7968.

This weekend we welcome you and your friends and family to spend the long holiday with us out on the Monterey Bay! Wednesday Night Sails Get a New Look - Two Special Events in One!

Al Frisby is a headlining local
talent not to be missed!

Throughout August and September, we are bringing together two of Santa Cruz's best bets for local fun - sailboat races and live music! On select Wednesday nights, we are setting sail for an hour and a half excursion to get up close to the stunning fleet of sailboats, while enjoying the jazzy blues tunes of Al Frisby, all against the awesome sunset backdrop. These extra special sails are a treat for families, friends, couples, visitors and locals alike. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online today. Don't miss out on either of these fantastic local experiences!

Vino Tabi returns this month for another pouring and pairing of their handcrafted wines! On Wednesday, August 21 at 6 PM, our hour and a half sail offers the chance to enjoy this Westside winery's best bottles of red and white, along with a delicious spread of cheeses, veggies, meats and sweets. Whether you love wine already or are acquiring your taste, this sail provides the picturesque setting to try something new. Tickets are $40 for this special event sail. View tickets here.

NEW 2013 SEASON UPDATE: Beginning on Wednesday, August 7 at 6 PM Al Frisby & His One-Man New Orleans Band, our featured summer musician, will be performing on select Wednesday Night Sailboat Race cruises. These extra special hour and a half sails encompass two of Santa Cruz's passions - sailboat regatta and local musical talent.  You will enjoy the breathtaking sights of the Monterey Bay and the spectacle of the races, all accompanied by Frisby's bayou-inspired tunes that bring a bit of the South to the West. Pacific leatherback sea turtles have been spotted along the Santa Cruz coast over the past couple weeks! As the official California marine reptile, these endangered sea turtles are an amazing sight and rare to see in our area. They are the largest sea turtles and travel frequently. Be on the lookout for them on your next sail!

The most celebrated day of summer is just around the corner and we invite you to come aboard for one of our exciting sails! On Thursday, July 4 we have three cruises lined up to take you and your friends and family out on an adventure. Our hour and a half sails begin at 2:30 and 5:30 PM, with an extra special two hour sunset and live music sail at 8 PM. Come aboard and let's see you in your red, white and blue!

Father's Day Sails - June 16 at 1 & 2:30 PM

Coming up next weekend are our Father's Day Sails on Sunday, June 16 at 1 PM & 2:30 PM! Let your dad know how great he is and treat him to a relaxing afternoon out on the open water. Warm weather and clear skies are projected for this weekend, so give your dad one Father's Day he won't soon forget. The 1 PM sail is a one hour cruise and the 2:30 PM sail lasts for an hour and a half.

Evening Sailboat Race Sails - Wednesdays at 6 PM

Everyone wants to get a front row seat for this adventure! Come aboard the best view in town as the O'Cat gets right up to the action of nearly 50 local sailboats heading out onto Monterey Bay for the annual Wednesday Night Races. Each sailboat shows displays her skill and beauty, as the sailors compete for thrills and fun. There's no winner, just a Santa  Cruz tradition and spectacle on the water.

Weekend Day Sails - Saturdays and Sundays

When you come aboard for a weekend adventure on the O'Cat, you see Santa Cruz from a new, exciting perspective. We take our passengers along all of the local must-sees like the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, the Santa Cruz Wharf, Walton Lighthouse and Steamer Lane. Throughout the ride, there is always a good chance of spotting our fascinating marine wildlife including dolphins, sea lions, seals and sea otters playing before your eyes.
