LOCAL BEER SAMPLING SAIL

This week is Beer Week in Santa Cruz, and nothing could kick off the weekend festivities better than with great views and tasty brews! This Friday OYC is teaming up with our friends at Discretion Brewing to give you a sampling of some of their craft beers, while sailing on the beautiful Monterey Bay. Gourmet pizza by Pleasure Pizza's East Side Eatery is included and Discretion's knowledgable staff will be pouring. Sail and get to know your local brewers! Tickets are $40 and advance purchase is strongly recommended.

Wednesday, August 13 at 6 PM 
TICKETS

Join Vino Tabi Winery aboard the Team O'Neill catamaran for an unforgettable Wednesday night cruise. Pouring signature varietals and pairing them with an array of treats and sweets, Vino Tabi sommeliers will provide a fun, interactive way for passengers to learn about wine against the backdrop of the local Wednesday night sailboat races. This 1.5-hour sail departs at 6 PM and tickets are $40.

The Monterey Bay is currently experiencing some of the most frequent humpback whale activity of the year, and they have been continously spotted just off the Santa Cruz coastline. Though OYC sees many whales during our regular weekend sails, we're bringing you a extended sailing experience so we can take you further onto the bay to spot these summer whales. 

What's Included:

• A 3 to 3.5-hour whale watch excursion, where we'll cruise around the bay in search of our local whale activity.
• A hot breakfast catered by Pleasure Pizza's East Side Eatery. Breakfast includes meat and veggie breakfast burritos, fresh seasonal fruit and your choice of coffee, tea or water.
• The best view of the Monterey Bay's wildlife on the smooth and stable 65' Team O'Neill catamaran. 

Advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. Kids under 5 sail for free.

General Whale Activity by Season:

SPRING: Humpback whales throughout the spring, with a few gray whales in the beginning of the season.
SUMMER: Humpback whales, blue whales and fin whales.
FALL: Humpback whales and blue whales.
WINTER: Migrating gray whales.
YEAR-ROUND: Dolphins, sea lions, sea otters and local and migratory birds, looking for food or just playing in the ocean.

These sails will put you in the right place at the right time to get up close to the majestic marine life that has made quite a splash the past couple weeks. OYC wants you to experience seeing them in a unique way, so bring the whole family and come see these humpbacks before they depart.

O’Neill Yacht Charters is excited to announce the return of our Saturday Day sails for the summer of 2011.

Sailing aboard the 65' Team O’Neill Catamaran is a fantastic way to celebrate the ocean and to view the beautiful Santa Cruz coastline from afar. It’s a great activity for locals and visitors alike. The time length is just right for a pleasant afternoon activity, with plenty of time left over to stroll the harbor, play on the beach or visit one of the local restaurants.

This is the last weekend for our Saturday Day Sails. These sails are still a great deal at $20.00 for 1 hour and as always, wee ones under 5 ride for free with a paid adult ticket on the Day Sails.

Our last Sail of the season will be a Musical one on Saturday October 1st @3pm. Al J. Frisby, a one man New Orleans band will be entertaining guest as we sail along the picturesque Santa Cruz Coastline! Born in the historic 9th Ward of New Orleans in 1959, Al Frisby grew up smack dab in the crossroads of many of America’s musical styles. Since leaving New Orleans in the 1980’s he has entertained audiences from coast to coast with his skill as a instrumentalist and his impressive knowledge of American roots music. You don’t want to miss this one!

The Team O’ Neill Catamaran is also available for private adventures where guests can charter the boat for Weddings, Corporate Events, Private Parties, and

Memorials at Sea.
